Psych 101

General Psychology is a survey course. Like a survey of a piece of land, this survey shows you the boundary markers. So you get a broad view of the field of psychology but not a detailed map.

In general, psychology is the study of what makes us human. It covers learning, thinking, development, and personality. Psychology studies how the brain works, how neurons form, and what happens as we get older. It describes how normal people behave, and what it is to be abnormal.

Each area of this course could be, and often is, an entire college course. So think of the class as a sampler.

For more information, I’ve written a non-credit course in general psychology. To learn everything you’d find in a university-level course Click Here.
