Reduction
We have spent 1 chapter on the importance of ideas and the last 11 chapters on generating ideas.
Now it is time to get down to business.
Let’s get right into it. Here is chapter 13 of Five Life-Changing Ideas.
It’s time for a little reduction. Look back over all the exercises so far. Pick out your favorites.
Take your time. No need to rush. Put them in any order.
Start a new page; a spot to jot down 30 favorite ideas.
If you need more space, take it. You can have as many as you wish.
It’s time to reduce your list even further.
Review your favorites list.
Cross off 5 that are your least favorite.
Don’t agonize about it.
If you can’t cut them, try combining them together into a new category.
Continue crossing off until you’re down to 15.
List them, in any order.
Pause
Now reduce the 15 to 5.
Circle ones that must stay and cross off any that can be eliminated.
Review your list.
Don’t be afraid to change them.
If you think of a better idea, cross one off the list and insert a different one.
Edit and re-edit until you are satisfied with the result.
Put your revised list on a new page.
Summary
You’ve reduced from many idea to five major ideas
Good job.
