Teacher

I do a lot of different things but ultimately I’m a teacher. I’ve done counseling, mediation, and consulting but at my core I teach. I want to help, so I ask questions, prode issues and try to let people discover truths for themselves. I present, encourage, nudge, explain, demonstrate, and tell stupid jokes.

I have taught at private colleges, community colleges, regional colleges, state universities and major research universities. I’ve taught full-time, part-time, faculty, adjunct, in-person and on-line. I’ve classes with hundreds of students sitting in a tiered auditorium, a handful on a military base, and a single individual hunched over a computer.

I have taught general psychology, personality, learning, cognition, memory, cognitive science, statistics, developmental, history and systems, experimental and physiological psychology. I’ve taught in undergraduate psychology programs and graduate business programs. And I now have students around the world.
